Subject: Excellent recording, excellent performance, annoying DJs
This recording is an excellent FM broadcast, and the DJs give the impression that they are talking over the show in real-time, as the show was happening. My guess is that the Italian radio station deliberately had them do this as a way of trying to deter bootleggers from releasing the show afterwards (it didn't stop them). However, even though it sounds like the commentary is "live", the DJs may actually have recorded their dialogue at a later time after the show, prior to broadcast. The reason I think this is because the DJs seem to have an unnatural awareness to start/stop talking just as a new song starts or ends, and are able to identify the name of the songs being performed just a little too quickly. On top of which, one of the DJs intros the song Bodies as "The Rattler", which was the band's inside joke way of referring to the song, but yet which none of the band members actually reference during the intro to the song at this concert. So, if I had to guess, I would say that the DJs may have had access to the band's stage setlist, where the song was written on the list as "The Rattler", and so used that title in the commentary, not knowing that it wasn't the real name of the song. The version of Bodies here, by the way, is a killer. Excellent, and up to the same standard of the rest of the show. This European tour had several highlights, and this gig is definitely one of the best shows of the tour.
The broadcast cuts out midway through Silverfuck, and omits Farewell and Goodnight, which is unfortunate, as it would've been nice to hear the whole show, even with the annoying DJs.
There is supposed to be an unedited version of this source out there, free of the DJ commentary, so if anyone has it, please consider uploading. This show is an underrated gem from the MCIS period.
Subject: Best gig I've ever been to
The djs are the dumbest people in the world.Unfortunately I can understand what they are saying.
Anyway thanks for uploading this, I still have the tape my (what became) girlfriend recorded back then from the radio somewhere.
Five stars for the sentimental value.
